Dr Gerard Balague

Dr. Gerard Balague graduated in 2005 with a degree in dentistry from the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya in Spain. He then began his career working in both NHS and private practices in Wales. In 2007, he pursued a postgraduate certificate in Implantology from Warwick University. After completing his certification, Gerard spent two and a half years in London focusing on Periodontics and Implantology in a general dental practice.

Gerard later returned to Spain to undertake a full-time, three-year Master’s program in Implantology, which covered Oral Surgery, Prosthetics, and Periodontics. During this time, he also completed a postgraduate certificate in forensic dentistry and earned a Master’s degree in Basic Research in Dentistry and Biomedicine. Currently, Gerard serves as a clinical teacher at King’s College Hospital, where he completed a Master of Arts in Clinical Education in 2017. His passion for teaching led him to begin a PhD in Spain in 2019.

Gerard’s primary areas of interest in dentistry include treating gum disease and placing dental implants to restore missing teeth.

In his spare time, Gerard likes playing tennis, play the piano and travel whenever he can with his family to explore new parts of the world.
